Who Are We?

Ottawa Neighbourhood Services collects and resells donated goods to underprivileged and financially challenged people with life's necessities at affordable costs * creates employment opportunities in their retail outlet, sorting facility and pick-up services

* Free relief service with no demands made to individuals in distress through disaster or extreme financial difficulty * these necessities are provided free, based on the need (closely monitored) with written referral from any social services agency, government or private.

* Pick-up service: clothing (bagged) * shoes * linen * tools * toys (not broken) * books (no encyclopaedia, Reader’s Digest condensed books, textbooks or magazines) * housewares * kitchenware (small appliances in working condition) * knick knacks and furniture (upholstered furniture & beds – no rips or stains) * single & double beds * small kitchen tables * chairs * Tall Boy dressers Eligibility No restrictions on regular items; 25$ pick up * recycling fee for large appliances Application Some assistance with used clothing, footwear, furniture and appliances will be provided free, based on the need (closely monitored) with written referral from social assistance, mother's allowance, Children's Aid Society, CMHA, Ottawa Housing and other social agencies. * Assistance provided to fire victims with written referral from the fire department
